La Malbaie in days gone by: an accessible historical fresco

Right in the heart of La Malbaie, you'll find this work on the outside wall of Mikes restaurant. Executed by one of Charlevoix's neighborhood muralists, this historical fresco illustrates the bustling activity of La Malbaie's past in a theatrical setting. Five characters representing everyday life are painted trompe-l'oeil on the stage, in front of two backdrops. The first depicts a landscape of the Malbaie River and its two banks, while the second takes us back to the very heart of downtown. Magnificent!
