This area, stretching as far as the mouth of the Saguenay Fjord, abounds in enchanting scenery. Take advantage of rainy days to discover attractions you wouldn't necessarily consider on sunny days. Take a look at our suggested one-day itinerary.
What better way to start the day than with a good cup of coffee? Mont Café Bistro is a must in Saint-Siméon, with its wide variety of coffees. You can also enjoy a good panini, croissant, muffin or even scrambled eggs. While you're there, it's imperative to take a moment to visit La Forêt Boréale, a unique space featuring over 100 naturalized Quebec animals!
Our next stop is Port-au-Persil, more precisely at La Poterie. For 50 years now, this emblematic yellow building has been offering pottery initiation and demonstration workshops, either individually or in groups. It's a great opportunity to let your creativity run free and create a piece to your own image and taste.
Cider lovers absolutely must make a stop at the Cidrerie de Port-au-Persil. Founded in 1990, the cider house offers a wide variety of ciders, including brut, doux, demi-sec and fortified. It's a great opportunity to learn more about the production process during a guided tour of the cider house, with even the possibility of a tasting!
After dinner, back in Saint-Siméon, you can attend one of the exhibitions at the Centre d'Exposition Inouï, which showcases contemporary art and heritage. The center is open Thursday to Sunday, afternoons only.
Don't miss a visit to the Boutiques du Ph'Art, located near the church. These three charming, colorful cottages house the creations of local artists and artisans, as well as local products from the magnificent Charlevoix region. It's an ideal opportunity to discover and appreciate the artistic and cultural riches of the region.
