This gourmet escapade on the Charlevoix Flavours Trail takes in Charlevoix farms, specialized crops and a visit to the Menaud distillery. A great way to discover Charlevoix's agri-tourism in a single day, while savouring products that fully reflect the region's identity.
Located in the heart of the Charlevoix astroblème, the Lupin Fruit orchard grows a variety of fruits and flowers adapted to the northern climate. In summer, pick-your-own fruit is harvested from the fields in a natural, bucolic setting, and transformed on site into compotes, spreads and sweet relishes. Among these gourmet products, cherry, sea buckthorn, elderflower and sweet clover are the star ingredients. A production in symbiosis with the region's biodiversity. Reservations are required, and the business is open only during the summer season.
Café Sol is a meeting place in the heart of the village of Les Éboulements. You'll find hot and cold beverages, as well as a small selection of sandwiches and paninis that can be eaten on site in our warm indoor and outdoor spaces, or taken to go to your next activity.
Located in Saint-Hilarion, Ferme Ambrosia immerses you in a duck farm where respect for the environment and animal welfare are central. Interpretation panels provide a better understanding of farming practices and the natural environment. An on-site store offers a selection of tasty products, including terrines and rillettes. Located in Saint-Hilarion, the Route 138 dairy bar offers not only frozen delights, but also a host of other family-friendly attractions. With its retro decor inspired by the legendary Route 66, the business offers a flea market, a snack bar and a general store. Young and old alike can even tease the trout in the lake just across from the snack bar.
Safran Nordique grows saffron north of the 47th parallel, an audacious gamble that illustrates the adaptation of crops to the Charlevoix climate. A visit to this rare spice reveals its many uses and the particularities of its production in a northern context. A brand-new reception building features a boutique and on-site tastings. In summer, pick-your-own raspberries and field tours complete the experience.
In Clermont, Menaud pays tribute to the boreal roots of the log driver, an emblematic figure of the region. Inspired by this forest memory and its northern character, the distillery-brewery crafts its beers and spirits from carefully selected ingredients. Grains, herbs and precise production methods give birth to products rooted in their environment. From the boutique and tasting room, large glass doors give a glimpse of the stills in action. A visit to the boutique allows you to discover a range of creations that celebrate nordicity.
Confit Épicerie-Buvette is the passion project of Joannie and Alexandre, a couple of restaurateurs who fell in love with Charlevoix. They've created a place that combines local groceries and convivial cuisine, with a focus on the region's producers.
By day, you can stop in for a coffee, a quick bite to eat and some gourmet shopping. In the evening, the atmosphere transforms into a warm rendezvous where wine, cocktails and tasty dishes are shared among friends.
